WHAT WILL BE COLLECTED ABOUT ME IN THE PLANT-FOR-THE-PLANET PORTAL?

We collect two types of information: personal data and anonymous data.

Personal Data

Personal data are personal and factual information that reveal your identity or can be used to identify or contact you; for the purposes of this Privacy Policy, personal data also include personal and factual information that reveal the identity of a child for whom you are acting as a legal representative according to Data Protection Law or that can be used to identify or contact your child (hereinafter “Personal Data”). Examples of such Personal Data include your name, address, email address, IP address, telephone number, date of birth, invoice data, and credit card information. We collect such Personal Data when you register as a user in the Plant-for-the-Planet Portal, when you subscribe to our newsletter, when you make a gift or donation, become a member or sponsor, or complete the contact form for other reasons, when you register for academies and other events, and when you make a purchase in our online shop. In such cases, however, we only collect Personal Data about you and your child when you voluntarily provide this information to us [you have given your consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 a) in conjunction with Art. 7 GDPR/§ 51 BDSG] and when this collection of data is necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy; we always treat these data confidentially and in accordance with Data Protection Law. We will not transfer your Personal Data for purposes other than those indicated in this Privacy Policy without your explicit consent.

You are not obligated to provide Personal Data to us in order to use the Plant-for-the-Planet Portal. However, if you do not provide Personal Data, you may not be able to visit all of the areas of the Plant-for-the-Planet Portal and may not be able to use all of our online services. In addition, we may not be able to offer you services that build on Personal Data or require us to contact you personally; in particular, we may not be able to provide a homepage that is tailored to your individual needs, and you may not be able to participate in events and other activities via the Plant-for-the-Planet Portal.

Anonymous Data

When you have registered as a user of the Plant-for-the-Planet Portal or when you use our online service, we collect statistically relevant information pertaining to the use of the Plant-for-the-Planet Portal. In principle, we process and use data for statistical purposes separately from your other Personal Data. These data can therefore not be used to identify or contact you. Such data include, for example, demographic information (age, profession, or gender) and other information about you as an individual (“Anonymous Data”). We use Anonymous Data to obtain an overview of the users of the Plant-for-the-Planet Portal as well as to improve the Plant-for-the-Planet Portal.

No Collection of Special Categories of Personal Data
We do not collect particularly sensitive categories of data about you as an individual, such as health data, genetic or biometric data, your ethnic background, religious or political convictions, or details about your sexual life, via the Plant-for-the-Planet Portal.

Information from Other Sources

In certain circumstances, we may supplement the data we collect with data from other sources. Such information helps us to evaluate and improve the Plant-for-the-Planet Portal and our online service; at the same time, this information helps us to assess our users’ preferences and thus to adapt the Plant-for-the-Planet Portal and our online service to your specific needs. We only supplement data for internal purposes; we will not combine such data to create a comprehensive personality profile of you.
